Cost Management at Beca

Sound financial management is critical to the success of any project. Our Cost Managers get involved with our clients’ ideas early, providing confidence that sound commercial and cost decisions have been well-considered when ideas become reality. Our full service provides cost management leadership from early feasibility stages right through to the completion of construction of our client’s project. We use the latest 2D and 3D technology that flexibly provides the right delivery framework, and as our systems can provide valuable real-time reporting, our clients know exactly where they stand at any point in their projects’ life cycle

The role

Beca has a network of offices throughout New Zealand that lead and support projects of national significance.  Based out of Wellington gives you the opportunity to have a great work life balance while continuing to grow and advance your career in a supportive and collaborative professional services organisation. We’re looking for an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our Wellington team where you’ll be involved in project teams for our diverse national clients.

About you

You’ll have technical cost management capability with experience in the delivery of large/medium infrastructure projects. You’ll need a minimum of 5 years’ experience with either consultants or client facing, along with a good understanding of buildings and/or civils/roading construction. The following skills and attributes will also be an advantage:

– Ability to use CostX estimating software

– Microsoft Excel and IT savvy

– Familiar with producing estimates and delivering to challenging deadlines

– Ability to work in a project team environment and develop others

– Working knowledge of contracts (3910) and procurement would also be an advantage

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a range significant and impactful projects. While our experience has been 98 years in the making, it is the fresh talent we’re nurturing, the innovative thinking we’re developing and the connections that we’re forging that get us most excited for the future.
