Some areas of Australia, such as New South Wales, are reporting to only fill 60% of vacancies for electricians. Additionally, the Australian Department of Employment states that most of the businesses it surveyed had actually failed to attract suitable applicants for the roles of plumbers, bricklayers and mechanics.
