For Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics migrating to Australia, a skills assessment is not mandatory for a 482 employer sponsored visa.
However, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic is a licensed trade in Australia and you would need to obtain the skills assessment, to get the Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR), so that you can apply for a provisional license to work in Australia.
You would then need to complete the Gap Training to get a full license.
