How does the Australian Automotive Electrician skills assessment work?

The Australian Automotive Electrician skills assessment has 2 mandatory stages. You need to be able to prove to the assessor that you have the necessary skills as a Automotive Electrician.

The first stage of the skills assessment is paper based, proving you are a Automotive Electrician. This is proved through payslips, tax evidence, detailed CV, work references, qualifications.

The second stage is a technical interview with an Australian qualified Automotive Electrician, who is also a qualified assessor. You will be asked a range of questions about the skills and knowledge required to work as a Automotive Electrician in Australia. All assessments are held in English and no interpreter is allowed. This is conducted via a chat over Skype or Zoom.

On successful completion, you will receive your skills assessment outcome letter and Australian certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology. The Automotive Electrician Australian certificate is valuable for Automotive Electricians migrating to Australia.
