It is so intriguing learning the ins and outs of migration to Australia and I wish to explore more of Australia in the future.
Carl works for Queensland Police as a frontline skills trainer, bringing expertise and a passion for safety to his role, while El works in a pregnancy spa, helping mums-to-be relax and feel their best. We’ve settled into a charming old Queenslander in Cannon Hill, and we’re absolutely loving it.
Since arriving, we’ve embraced the great outdoors—weekend beach trips, bushwalks, and discovering all the hidden gems Brisbane has to offer. Whether it’s a scenic drive to the hinterland or a lazy afternoon by the river, we’re always up for an adventure. We’ve quickly become familiar with the area and love sharing tips with newcomers and locals alike!
Life here has been a whirlwind of new experiences, warm welcomes, and endless discoveries, and we can’t wait to see what’s next on our Brisbane journey!
I’m Clarissa, I live in Adelaide, South Australia with my Husband Wynand, our son Wynand Jnr., our daughter Lara-Lee, and our not so little tuxedo cat Sokkies aka Socks.
We Immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia in 2022 from South Africa as a family of 3 on a 482 visa with just 6 bags of personal belongings. Once we set foot in Adelaide, we started the process of rebuilding our entire life here. We soon after adopted a kitten from the RSPCA to have a little furry companion in our home and in early 2024 we welcomed our little baby girl into our family here in Adelaide. We are currently in the process of obtaining our Permanent Residence which we are extremely happy and thankful for.
We have been around the block with immigration processes on a lot of fronts, we have faced all sorts of challenges, and I know how stressful and confusing immigration can be. Packing up our life, saying goodbye to family and the life we knew, and starting over in a new country has motivated me to help individuals and families have a softer landing based on my own experiences and the things I have learned since immigrating in 2022.
Adelaide has welcomed us with open arms, surrounded by lovely people that have since become friends and even some that have become our non-biological Australian family, our own little village.

I support Lisa and Ayla with marketing activities such as managing the DUC social media channels and content on the DUC website and Relocation Hub.
Our beloved dog, Toby, also made the journey with us and is loving life in our new home. We understand the challenges and stresses that come with moving to a new country. We are committed to helping you find the perfect home in Perth and are happy to answer any questions to make the relocation process smoother for you all.
My husband and I came to Australia on a working holiday visa in 2012 and since then we have wanted to be back. With a few delays setting us back, 2024 was our year! We decided to lodge our 190 visa onshore and we are now living the dream! Sun, sea, and happy faces all round.
We used the DUC for our visas and relocation rental search and we are very grateful to them.. such a great team!
Back in the UK, I was a primary school teacher and my husband is an electrician. I have been through the process and I am here to help you. Finding your rental, school information, advice, and anything else to make the process and journey into your new life as smooth as possible.
I look forward to helping you find your special place here on the Sunshine Coast.

I love animals, sport, being outdoors and meeting new people. I was delighted to join the DUC team and endeavour to support you to the best of my ability on your migration journey.
I came out here for a change of lifestyle — more sunshine, more space, and way more to do with the kids! I’m all about the outdoors and making the most of everything Aussie life has to offer.
Before making the move, I managed a lettings office back in the UK. Now I get to help others with their move, finding the right home and settling into their new life down under.
As a family person myself, with a wonderful husband and two amazing children aged 14 and 10, I know the importance of finding a space that truly feels like home. On weekends, you’ll often find us exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends.
I look forward to helping you secure your dream home in this vibrant city! Feel free to get in touch with me and I will be happy to arrange a chat
I work for the DUC as a Skills Assessment Client Manager. So, I'm all ready to help you through the Skills Assessment, so you can start living your dream too.
I love meeting new people, helping people and sharing knowledge in this crazy migration journey!
I commenced in the hotel sector for several years and went on to operating three successful restaurants in Toorak and Melbourne across a span of 30 years.
I have also had hands on roles in the management and delivery of training projects and industry consultancy for Australian TAFE in the Asia Pacific region.
Before that, I was a Teacher and I have now come full circle, teaching Automotive subjects at TAFE, as well as doing skills assessment for the Down Under Centre. In my free time, I take my dogs for adventures and spend a lot of time growing fruit and veg in my own garden. I am excited to assist you in your own journey to Australia.
The journey took a long time but I got there in the end and now we live in Victoria. We love it here and have no plans to return to the UK. I would love to be able to assist others making the move as I’ve been there myself and know how difficult it can be.
I am in Scotland and work in the office up here. I love Scotland and go to the Isle of Arran every year. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by mountains, lochs and scenery… not that I’m biased! Although, Australia definitely competes with our scenery and certainly beats our weather!
I look forward to helping some of you on your journey to Brisbane!
I moved to Australia in 2019 with my family, and outside of work we love being outdoors - especially the beach. Paddleboarding, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking – we do it all! Picnics, BBQs, and dinners on the beach with friends watching the sun go down with a few beers are our thing!
When I am not working, I love to spend quality time with my husband & children.
When I am not busy with assessments and helping people with their migration goals, I am busy building traditional timber framed buildings from legs to finished products.
I have been in the Australian migration space since 2017 and have assisted many families and skilled professionals achieve their dreams down under.
I look forward to assisting you and your family.
I joined the DUC in 2016, with a background in the Hospitality Industry and NVQ assessment and training. My role is UK Skills Team Manager, working with a range of trades. I also collaborate with the RTO Australian Trade Training College (ATTC) for offshore application processing.
As a family, we have the privilege of hosting Au Pairs from overseas to be part of our family. I am passionate about giving our Au Pairs the opportunity to experience and travel Australia during their stay.
I love to learn new things and so when I got offered to join the DUC team I jumped at the chance. I’m bubbly, outgoing and here to help give the best advice I can on your migration journey.
Although Scotland is my home, I feel more drawn to the sunny Australian skies every day and I am definitely planning to visit in the future. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors…when the Scottish weather allows, riding horses and hillwalking with my dog, Steve.
As an Aussie, I didn’t need a visa myself - but I’m passionate about helping others make their dream of moving Down Under a reality. After spending more than a decade living abroad, I’ve returned with a deeper appreciation for this beautiful country and all it has to offer. It’s incredibly rewarding that my work allows me to share that with others and help them start their own Australian adventure.
As an assessor, I'm dedicated to working closely with candidates to ensure they achieve the best possible outcome in their skills assessment. I provide expert guidance throughout the Stage 2 evidence gathering process and prepare candidates for the final technical interview, ensuring a smooth and well-supported experience.
Beyond my professional expertise, I'm an avid traveller with a passion for exploring the world’s best freediving and scuba diving destinations. My open-minded approach to travel allows me to connect with diverse cultures and people, enriching both my personal and professional life.
I am part of the DUC Home Search Team and I look forward to helping you.
I spent a number of years at the department processing visas, and then many more years in Immigration enforcement with the Australian Border Force. I now lecture Migration law, train other Migration professionals & manage General Skilled Migration visas for the DUC.
I have been working as a Registered Migration Agent since 2006 and joined the Down Under Team in 2023. Whilst the job can be super stressful at times, it is also very rewarding. Having been through the process myself, I understand how stressful it can be, as I had a child, got married, and moved countries in a matter of months. For anyone who is going through the process I can say with my hand on my heart that it will be worth it.
