Meet the Team

Albert Luke

Albert Luke

I joined the DUC in late 2023 as a Skills Assessment Co-ordinator/Administrator, after studying a bachelor’s degree relating to criminology and cyber security. Because of this I have a keen interest on all things relating to legislation. I have lived on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria my whole life and absolutely love how close I am to nature!

Ayla Orejudos

I have been a part of the DUC team since 2015, starting off as the young Digital Marketing apprentice and now the UK Operations Coordinator. I am based in South Wales and manage the day-to-day operations of the DUC UK team.

It is so intriguing learning the ins and outs of migration to Australia and I wish to explore more of Australia in the future.

Barbara Graaff

Barbara Graaff

Hello! I’m Barbara, and I’m thrilled to connect with you. I reside in beautiful Brisbane with my husband, two teenage boys, and our lovable Pug, Peppa. Since making the move in 2017, I’ve experienced firsthand the ups and downs of immigration – from the bittersweet goodbyes to the challenge of finding the perfect place to call home.
As someone who’s navigated this journey, I’m passionate about helping others make their transition smoother. My goal is to provide you with valuable support, so you can focus on the excitement of this new chapter, rather than stressing about where to stay.
Becci Carr

Becci Carr

My family and I moved from the UK to Australia using the help of the Down Under Centre. I now hope to do the same for others as the Gold Coast’s Relocation Agent.
I look forward to helping you on your journey and making some friends along the way!
Brad Harris

Brad Harris

Hi, I’m Brad. I have been a professional Chef and instructor/assessor for over 40 years and have been involved in overseas skills assessment since 2009.
My career has taken me to many places including Vietnam, The Philippines, East Timor and Papua New Guinea where I have trained many Chefs in the Diploma of Hospitality and Cert IV in Commercial cookery with a large number now employed and residing in Australia through the skills assessment and related visa processes.
Brid Sutherland

Brid Sutherland

I am a dual citizen (UK and Australia), Registered Migration Agent based in the Scotland office. I originally joined the migration industry in 2012 when I was working in Sydney, moving back to Scotland in 2018. I started my career in Employer Sponsored Visas, but I now work with all different kind of visas. Having been through the migration process first hand means I can always relate to our clients. When I am not working, I am spending time with my little boy. One of my favourite places in the world is Icebergs Pool at Bondi Beach (pictured). I will eternally be torn between Australia and the UK; whilst I am settled here at this present time, I will never close that Australia door.
Cai Jones

Cai Jones

I'm originally from the UK, now a Registered Migration Agent, based in Melbourne, helping others on their migration journey to Oz.
Carl and El

Carl and El

G’day! We’re Carl and El, a fun-loving duo who packed up our lives in Dorset, UK, and made the big move to sunny Brisbane, Australia, in May 2024. Along with our adventurous 2-year-old daughter, we’ve been soaking up everything this beautiful part of the world has to offer—fresh air, endless sunshine, and a whole new backyard to explore!

Carl works for Queensland Police as a frontline skills trainer, bringing expertise and a passion for safety to his role, while El works in a pregnancy spa, helping mums-to-be relax and feel their best. We’ve settled into a charming old Queenslander in Cannon Hill, and we’re absolutely loving it.

Since arriving, we’ve embraced the great outdoors—weekend beach trips, bushwalks, and discovering all the hidden gems Brisbane has to offer. Whether it’s a scenic drive to the hinterland or a lazy afternoon by the river, we’re always up for an adventure. We’ve quickly become familiar with the area and love sharing tips with newcomers and locals alike!

Life here has been a whirlwind of new experiences, warm welcomes, and endless discoveries, and we can’t wait to see what’s next on our Brisbane journey!

Chris Chambers

G'day! I'm the DUC technical specialist. I emigrated from the UK in 2019 and live in Adelaide with my family. When I'm not sat at a computer desk, you can usually find me at one of our beautiful beaches or watching Aussie-rules footy at the Adelaide Oval!
Clarissa Booysen

Clarissa Booysen

G’Day,

I’m Clarissa, I live in Adelaide, South Australia with my Husband Wynand, our son Wynand Jnr., our daughter Lara-Lee, and our not so little tuxedo cat Sokkies aka Socks.

We Immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia in 2022 from South Africa as a family of 3 on a 482 visa with just 6 bags of personal belongings. Once we set foot in Adelaide, we started the process of rebuilding our entire life here. We soon after adopted a kitten from the RSPCA to have a little furry companion in our home and in early 2024 we welcomed our little baby girl into our family here in Adelaide. We are currently in the process of obtaining our Permanent Residence which we are extremely happy and thankful for.

We have been around the block with immigration processes on a lot of fronts, we have faced all sorts of challenges, and I know how stressful and confusing immigration can be. Packing up our life, saying goodbye to family and the life we knew, and starting over in a new country has motivated me to help individuals and families have a softer landing based on my own experiences and the things I have learned since immigrating in 2022.

Adelaide has welcomed us with open arms, surrounded by lovely people that have since become friends and even some that have become our non-biological Australian family, our own little village.

Please feel free to join my Instagram where I have recently started documenting our immigration adventure – @Booysenadventuresdownunder

I'm a former DUC client now living in South Australia with my wife and our 2 boys. We arrived in October 2020 and have settled in the southern foothills. As well as a Licenced Electrician here, I assess the Electrical Practicals for their skills assessment.

Daisy Ayres

I am currently in the process of moving from the UK to the Gold Coast on a 190 visa, with the help of the DUC team. I have been longing to live in the Gold Coast since I first visited Australia in 2011.

I support Lisa and Ayla with marketing activities such as managing the DUC social media channels and content on the DUC website and Relocation Hub.

Doug and Stacey

We are Stacey and Doug, originally from the UK, we made our long-held dream a reality by relocating to sunny Perth, Australia, in January 2024. Our two daughters, Taylor and Gracie, are thriving in this vibrant environment, enjoying the beaches and the relaxed lifestyle that Perth offers.

Our beloved dog, Toby, also made the journey with us and is loving life in our new home. We understand the challenges and stresses that come with moving to a new country. We are committed to helping you find the perfect home in Perth and are happy to answer any questions to make the relocation process smoother for you all.

Douglas Eckhart

Douglas Eckhart

As a skills assessment coordinator at the DUC, I have over 15 years’ experience in skilled migration applications to Australia. I deal with all General occupations, as well as a range of trades. I have close relatives in Perth WA and my uncle was a ‘flying doctor’ and resident GP at the Mount Whaleback mine, Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Best part of the job: When a client’s skills assessment is approved and you know that you have played a key role in making that person’s dream come true!
Emily Boden

Emily Boden

Hello all, my name is Emily and I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast with my husband and our two daughters, Dolcie (6) and Harper (4).

My husband and I came to Australia on a working holiday visa in 2012 and since then we have wanted to be back. With a few delays setting us back, 2024 was our year! We decided to lodge our 190 visa onshore and we are now living the dream! Sun, sea, and happy faces all round.

We used the DUC for our visas and relocation rental search and we are very grateful to them.. such a great team!

Back in the UK, I was a primary school teacher and my husband is an electrician. I have been through the process and I am here to help you. Finding your rental, school information, advice, and anything else to make the process and journey into your new life as smooth as possible.

I look forward to helping you find your special place here on the Sunshine Coast.

Felix Pontejos

Hi, My name is Felix from Victoria, Australia. I come from the Philippines and moved to Australia in 2015. I have held various roles, including Baker, FMCG Quality Food Controller, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, Hospitality Trainer and Assessor, currently as Client Manager and Qualified Cook/Chef Assessor at DUC. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to DUC and I'm confident that my experiences and passion for culinary arts will make me a valuable addition to assist you on your skills assessment journey. I believe that family always comes first and that is why I always bond with them in my free time.

Fife Massey

I was born in Geelong, Australia … spent much of my childhood in the UK … lived and worked in Sydney … got married and currently live in Turkey! But I am forever homesick for Oz. I’ve been teaching English to international adult students, since 2001. While I love teaching English to any student willing to learn, it is most rewarding to teach those with clear exam-focused goals. As clients need to achieve specific PTE/IELTS scores to get points for their visa application to Australia, I understand the frustrations and challenges they face, and delight in their exhilaration at finally achieving their dreams.

Gemma Teale

Hey, I'm Gemma! I moved to Australia in 2019, with my Husband Chris and our 3 children. Originally, we moved to Adelaide, but then to move to Perth in 2021. We love everything Perth has to offer, stunning beaches and great weather. We are looking forward to applying to become Aussie Citizens in 2023!
Hayley Brown

Hayley Brown

Hey, I'm Hayley, and I work as a NSW Relocation and Home Search Agent with the Down Under Centre. I actually made the move to Australia using the DUC myself, so I know exactly what it’s like to go through the process. Now I’m lucky enough to live on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW.

I came out here for a change of lifestyle — more sunshine, more space, and way more to do with the kids! I’m all about the outdoors and making the most of everything Aussie life has to offer.

Before making the move, I managed a lettings office back in the UK. Now I get to help others with their move, finding the right home and settling into their new life down under.

Heather Gillespie

Heather Gillespie

Hello! I’m Heather, one of the dedicated Home Search Agents based in beautiful Melbourne, Victoria. My passion for all things home-related drives me to help you find the perfect place to call home. As a family person myself, with a wonderful husband and two amazing children aged 14 and 10, I know the importance of finding a space that truly feels like home. On weekends, you’ll often find us exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends.

I look forward to helping you secure your dream home in this vibrant city! Feel free to get in touch with me and I will be happy to arrange a chat

Outside of work, I enjoy playing cricket with my local club on weekends, embracing the team spirit and competition.

Jodie Taylor

Originally from the UK, I moved to Perth, Australia, in 2015 on a working holiday visa and quickly fell in love with the lifestyle. I was fortunate to obtain permanent residency through an employer-sponsored visa while working as the right-hand woman to one of Perth’s longest-standing migration agents. Now a proud dual citizen of Australia and the UK, I have worked in migration for the past 9 years and joined the DUC Visa team in October 2024. Having navigated the migration process myself and assisted thousands of clients over the years, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to help others achieve their migration goals.
While Sheffield will always be my hometown, I now see Perth as home and love my life here with my daughter and a wonderful group of friends who have become like family.

Hi, I'm Katie. I currently live in Adelaide with my husband and two young kids. We love everything about SA; the beaches, the hills, the vineyards... My role within the DUC is to network with Employers across Australia to help DUC clients find employment before landing in Australia. I look forward to working with you!

Kaja Wilhelm

Hi there! My name is Kaja and I am an Assessor for the Light Vehicle Automotive trade. I moved from Germany to Australia a decade ago and after travelling I got into the automotive trade both out of interest – many of my backpacker cars broke down – and as a way to gain my permanent residency.

Before that, I was a Teacher and I have now come full circle, teaching Automotive subjects at TAFE, as well as doing skills assessment for the Down Under Centre. In my free time, I take my dogs for adventures and spend a lot of time growing fruit and veg in my own garden. I am excited to assist you in your own journey to Australia.

Karen Groves

Karen Groves

Hi, my name is Karen and I moved to Australia from the UK in Feb 2023. I came with my 2 girls and cat!

The journey took a long time but I got there in the end and now we live in Victoria. We love it here and have no plans to return to the UK. I would love to be able to assist others making the move as I’ve been there myself and know how difficult it can be.

Patricia Devine

I joined the DUC in 2023 as a Registered Migration Agent. I accidentally ended up in Australia in 2011 on a working holiday visa and secured business sponsorship with an Engineering Company.
