PROCESS FOR CERT III TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
1. Documentary Assessment for Telecommunications AQF III
The cost of this qualification is $3,500 AUD.
In short, you are required to prove you are a Telecommunications Technician/Cabler and have the necessary skills to work in Australia. You will need to provide evidence you have hands on training and work experience for a minimum of 6 years hands on training and work experience and that you have worked in telecommunications for a minimum of 12 months out of the last 36 months.
There will be a list of mandatory documentation that you must provide and a list of useful documentation that you could include in your application such as; payslips, banking and statements of service. You will also need to supply contact details of one or two work referees who can confirm your skills in the industry.
Down Under Centre Agency Service £600 + VAT
Most of the evidence you gather is also required for your TRA skills assessment and visa. The Down Under Centre offer an agency service to assist you with the gathering of your documentation as it is considered to be the most difficult stage of your visa application. The Down Under Centre will also be able to advise how many years of work experience will be required to give you maximum points for your skilled visa. 2. Technical Interview for Telecommunications AQF III
We will organise an Australian qualified Telecommunications technician/Cabler to discuss your application with you and your everyday working life via an online Technical Interview. If the assessor feels that you do not have the necessary skills then you may be asked to provide further information or complete a practical assessment which will be at your cost. The assessors understand that you may be nervous, they will discuss your application with you in a calm manner in a relaxed environment and do all they can to assist you and put you at ease.
Once you have successfully completed, you will obtain your Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology and can then move on to complete the Telecomunnication Technician/Cabler skills assessment Australia.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS IN AUSTRALIA
Trade workers should be able to connect, maintain and repair data broadcast equipment, aerial lines, channels, cables, radio antennae and communications equipment and appliances.
Tasks include examining drawings, conditions and work areas to control positioning and connections for equipment to be installed. You will be finding faults in broadcastings equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters and broadcast measuring apparatus. As well as attaching wires and cables to appliances you’ll be altering, replacing and repairing faulty objects, and testing equipment using electronic instruments. You will be fitting any cabling for receiver, radio, pay TV and computer program; you’ll also be assembling cables and fastening casings with lead and thermoplastic. This includes you establishing, testing and maintaining mid-air and underground wires and cables, and radio and mobile phone projections. Finally, you will be fitting telecommunications equipment and utilisations such as telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment.
