Baker skills assessment Australia

We work closely with Bakers to obtain their skills assessment for the purpose of emigrating to Australia. The Down Under Centre works with UK and Irish Bakers to ensure they are prepared for their skills assessment. Baker ANZSCO Code 351111.

The RTOs we work with are Trade Recognition Australia (TRA) approved to deliver Skills Assessments for Bakers migrating to Australia.

Once you have successfully passed your skills assessment as a Baker, you will be given your Australian Certificate III. Australian employers may ask for this qualification prior to employment in Australia.

Process for Baker Skills Assessment for Australia

The skills assessment process for Bakers is in 2 stages. Baking in Australia is not a licensed trade.

1. Documentary Assessment for Baker skills assessment Australia $1,120

This part of the skills assessment and in fact the visa is considered the most difficult part by many clients. You need to prove you are a qualified or an experienced Baker.

  • If you hold trade related qualifications, you’ll be asked to prove you have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience.
  • If you don’t have trade related qualifications, you’ll be asked to prove you have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience.

You also need to prove that you have been working as a Baker for 12 months out of the last 36 months.

Down Under Centre Agency Service £600 + VAT

It is very important to remember that most of your evidence gathering for your Baker skills assessment is also required for your visa. The Down Under Centre can provide you with an agency service to assist you with the gathering of your documentation for your Australian qualification. The Down Under Centre will also be able to advise how many years of work experience will be required to give you maximum points for your visa. 2. Technical Interview for Baker skills assessment Australia $2,000

The final part of your skills assessment as a Baker is an online Technical interview.

Baker duties in Australia

Bakers, also known as Doughmakers, in Australia, prepare and bake bread loaves and rolls.

The tasks of Bakers in Australia include maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production complies with occupational health and safety regulations. They must also check the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.

Bakers’ tasks also include kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough. They must monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times whilst coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread and rolls. They will operate machines that roll and mould dough.
