Tourist Visas for Australia
If you are a passport holder from an eligible country, applying for a tourist visa to Australia is a straightforward process. Eligible travellers can apply online for the eVisitor (Subclass 651) visa, which is free of charge. This visa is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, allowing multiple entries into Australia. Each visit under this visa can last for a maximum of three months.
Key Features and Restrictions:
Work Prohibition:
It is important to note that you are not permitted to work in Australia while on a tourist visa. Engaging in paid employment without the proper visa may lead to serious consequences.
Study Limitations:
In some instances, tourist visa holders may study for up to three months. If you plan to enrol in a longer course, you may need to explore alternative visa options, such as a student visa.
Voluntary Work:
There are limitations on voluntary work. You may only volunteer if the work is genuinely unpaid, and meets other requirements set by the Australian Government.
Business Visitor Activities:
Business visitors can engage in specific activities, such as attending conferences, seminars, or trade fairs, provided they are not receiving payment from Australian organisations. Business activities may also include making employment inquiries or negotiating contracts.
