Regional Areas in Australia – From 5 March 2022

The Subclass 491 visa is valid for 5 years and allows you to travel in and out of Australia as you wish. To be eligible to apply for the Subclass 191 Permanent Residence application, you must:
- Abide by the conditions of your visa which require you, and all member of your family included in the application, to live, work and study in Regional Areas only. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list/regional-postcodes
- Keep your application updated every time your address or employment changes.
- Hold* the Subclass 491 for 3 years.
- Provide notices of assessment issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for 3 income years out of the 5 years of your eligible visa. There is currently no minimum income requirement.
