Is a qualification required to start the Automotive Electrician skills assessment for Australian Migration?

No, it’s not required. You are required to either hold your completed apprenticeship papers as an Automotive Electrician and 3 years of paid work experience pre or post qualification. So, if you are from the UK and hold a formal qualification as an Automotive Electrician you would only require the 3 years of employment experience.

If you have NO NVQ or formal training for example, then you are required to have a minimum of 5 years paid employment experience. It is common for our clients to be assessed without holding any formal training or qualification so we use your 5 years of paid work experience as evidence. Your evidence also must show you have worked in your occupation for at least 12 months within the last 3 years and must be able to be verified.
